Pat DeVaney
Pat DeVaney My career in real estate has brought success and introduced me to a variety of interesting people. I love helping folks as they navigate the more than occasionally bewildering world of buying or selling a home. As real estate professionals, we sometimes forget that the average person does not engage in such transactions thirty or more times in a given year. What we accept as a routine occurrence often seems like a roller coaster ride to others. I like to see myself as a seatbelt – a source of comfort and security – someone who can be trusted to provide a level of protection and assurance.
But as much as I enjoy selling homes, real estate is simply what I do. Who I am at the core is a man greatly blessed by a thirty-four-year marriage and the father of a pair of magnificent adult sons. Along with our faithful dog, Lucky, they bring joy, fulfilment, and peace to my life.
In the last half dozen years, I have discovered two new interests. In 2014, I leapt out of my comfort zone and participated in the Camino de Santiago, a 500-mile hike that begins in southwest France and treks over the Pyrenes Mountains to the final resting place of St. James, in Santiago de Compostela Spain. 2020, an odd year for all of us, was supposed to be my sixth time on the pilgrimage. Hopefully, I will renew my tradition soon.
The Camino sparked my second endeavor – writing. When I came home from my first Camino, I recorded my adventures in a book entitled Two Million Steps. At this moment, I am putting the finishing touches on an unnamed novel also centered around the arduous journey.
As I write about characters, real and fictional, I recognize areas in my own life I want to improve. It remains my most earnest desire to use every day to improve as a husband, as a father, as a friend, as a professional, and as a human being.
Experience matters, and you can be sure that with over $100 million in real estate sales, Pat can guide you smoothly to the closing table.
As your realtor, Pat will be your advocate. Whether you are buying or selling, he will focus on promoting your best interests and strive to remove the stress out of the sale and make it a pleasurable experience for you.
In his spare time, Pat loves spending time with his family including his wife Judy, his sons, John and Tom, and his grand-dog, Lucky. He enjoys hiking and traveling. In fact, in 2014, he hiked the 500-mile Camino de Santiago pilgrim trail through northern France and Spain. Pat was so greatly moved by his experience that he wrote a book titled “Two Million Steps,” published in 2017.
